About the game

Heroes of Rhym: Battle for Eldavar is a faith-based tower-defense game for kids ages 8 and up on the TruPlay Games platform. Castle Eldavar is under siege. Queen Axilla's armies are closing in, and the only thing between her and total destruction is the Rhym Squad, armed with faith and the Armor of Logos. This is a bible game built for kids who want to defend something worth defending. No ads, no in-app purchases, no chatrooms.

The story

Castle Eldavar floats on three words: Faith, Hope, and Love. Built by Logos, it houses the Great Library and the last remaining Bibles in Rhym. If Axilla reaches them, the stories inside get erased. Every page. Every promise.

She's not coming quietly. Armies of Smudz (corrupted ink creatures) pour from the Forest of Words, commanded by Snark. The Moldwart anchors her mid-game assault. And Axilla doesn't just attack with monsters. She attacks with words. "Alone." "Unwanted." "Unloved." "Coward." Each lie aimed at a different hero, tailored to cut deepest.

The Rhym Squad meets her at the clearing. Maple the tiger bunny. Benjamin the wolverine. Lucas the skunk in a crocodile-robot suit. Ava the lynx. Eventually Isabella joins. Each carries the spiritual growth of their own game into this final fight.

Players deploy nanite-based defenders using Eldavarian gauntlets, each with unique abilities: Hailstorm, Polar Mine, Crocadoomerang, Cannonball. Smudz can be redeemed into Whispers (testimonies of truth). Wave after wave, the defense pushes from the forest clearing to the grand hall of Eldavar.

The Rhym Squad wins. Not because they're the strongest. Because truth spoken together breaks what lies built alone.

What this game teaches kids

When the walls of Castle Eldavar shake and Axilla's armies close in, the Rhym Squad doesn't fight on talent. They fight on faith. The central spiritual theme of this game about trusting God is the search for God and His strength, even when everything looks like it's falling apart.

Ephesians 6:10-18 anchors the game. Benjamin's gear carries the full Armor of God: the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, and the Sword of the Spirit.

What makes this bible game online different from a standard "good vs. evil" story is that Axilla's real weapon is deception, not force. She hurls "unloved," "alone," "coward" at each hero. The Rhym Squad has to name those lies and replace them with what God says.

The game shows children how to actively turn to God for guidance and courage when the situation feels frightening. The battle is real, God already provided the gear, and the first step is recognizing when a lie is talking.

Themes & lessons

Be Strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10)

"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."

Every hero in the Rhym Squad hits a wall. Benjamin can't punch his way past Axilla's lies. Lucas can't engineer a solution for grief. Ava can't think her way out of self-doubt. Strength in this TruPlay Games title comes from standing in what God already gave you. The armor isn't earned. It's put on.

Take Every Thought Captive (2 Corinthians 10:5)

"We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Her strategy runs on repetition. Say the lie enough times and it starts sounding true. "You're alone." "Nobody wants you." The game gives kids a picture of catching those thoughts and holding them up against Scripture. Maple does this out loud. She prays, corrects the lie, keeps moving. Kids see the pattern: that's a lie, and here's what God says.

No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)

"No weapon forged against you will prevail."

The Smudz keep coming. The Moldwart is terrifying. Her forces grow with each chapter. And yet. Castle Eldavar stands. Isaiah 54:17 doesn't promise the fight won't happen. It promises the outcome. Kids playing this game about trusting God don't get a world without conflict. They get a God who wins inside it.

Meet the heroes

The Rhym Squad (Ensemble Cast)

Heroes of Rhym doesn't have a single lead. It has a squad, and that's the point.

Maple is the faith engine. Tiger bunny, oldest of seventeen siblings. She prays out loud ("Okay, here goes... God give me courage") and pulls the others into belief by conviction alone. Benjamin is the warrior. Wolverine in polar-bear hockey gear, trained Rhym Ranger. He carries the Armor of Logos but must learn that strength alone isn't the answer. Lucas is the engineer. A skunk in a crocodile-robot costume, grieving his twin brother Chase. Ava is the truth defender. A lynx who battled her own lies in the Rhymflection. Isabella joins late, but her childlike faith fills a gap the older heroes can't.

Supporting Characters

Yavas provides wisdom, equipment, and Scripture. The Narrator guides the story without controlling it. Whispers (redeemed Smudz) become allies mid-battle. Snark leads Axilla's ground forces. Queen Axilla is the liar behind the lies.

From the developer

Every kid in the Rhym Squad walked their own road before they reached Eldavar. Maple found courage in the Forest of Words. Benjamin earned the Armor of Logos. Lucas launched into space searching for a brother he lost. Ava fought her own reflection until truth won. Isabella carried a lantern into the dark.

We built this bible game because those journeys needed a destination. When life seems dark or scary, the answer lies in actively seeking God and His strength. That's what every hero learns. Not to fight alone. Not to pretend the fear isn't there. To turn toward God and let His armor do the holding.

Axilla's words hit where it hurts because they're the same words real kids hear in hallways and in their own heads. "You're not enough." "Nobody's coming." We wanted children to see friends stand together, speak God's truth back at those lies, and win. Armored in something they didn't have to earn.
